ON THE ROAD AGAIN 2008
I have been fortunate enough to take a road trip with Ivan for the last few years.  We take our trusty books and set out in search of something that was missed in the desert.  For me, there is nothing like getting up at dawn and heading  out to nowhere in search of the past.  I love the sunrise, the smell of the sage, the remnants of life long gone.  I also like to take the old town photos and reconstruct them while wandering through the remains that still survive.  It's always a grand experience!
OUR STORY

GABBS, DON'T GO!

Our guides for some of  the trip

A whiskey top had washed out in the spring rain.  But oddly, it was upside down in the dirt.  As I scratched, I uncovered a whole row of turn of the century whiskey tops that had been stuck straight down into the mud and I'm betting they were used for target practice in the days of the old saloon there.  In all there were about 30 tops in a 25 foot line.
