Legendary Collector David Kyte

I have been a collector since I can remember. My mom tells me that as a toddler, I would gather little rocks and arrange them in a collection. I bought my first metal detector in 1969. It was a real basic unit and you had to use a transistor radio with it to hear the signal.

Over the years and about 6 or 8 detectors later, I have amassed quite a collection of coins, relics and western trade tokens. I am particularly proud of my Utah/Nevada military relic collection!

In recent years, I have spent quite a bit of time sifting, detecting and digging in old dumps. I have a nice little collection of poison bottles and Utah/Western Hutchinsons, most of which, I have dug. I have hunted in Utah quite a bit and in surrounding states - Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming. I am still amazed at the amount of stuff still being found out there!

My latest passion is completing a collection of early Utah Blob Top and Hutchinson soda bottles. If you have one or some for sale , I would definitely be interested in taking a look!

Still looking for a Mercur! (Isn't everybody?)
Of the many coins I have dug,
these two are my favorites
