Blake has been one of Utah's most interesting collectors. He always has something fascinating and different going on. I met Blake when he was speaking at one of the old bottle club meetings. At that time, he wasn't keeping anything newer than 1880, which is a real challenge in Utah.
The next time I saw him as a speaker, he brought in a collection of metal suspender clips that he had found in those early locations and it was pretty astounding. They were wonderfully sculpted. Who would have ever thought to keep those?
Then I bumped into him again a few years later and he is collecting antique fishing items. Once again, I was amazed at the variety and uniqueness of the collection.
But he has continued to search for bottles amidst all the other interests and he always has something interesting to share. He keeps it exciting for all collectors. Who knows what he'll come up with next!
